Gently used DaVinci crib (non dropside)

Very gently used DaVanci dark brown crib. This is a non-dropside crib.   It was purchased 1 1/2 years ago.   Model: Kalani, color: Espresso, retail value: $240.  We do not have/cannot take pictures since crib had to be taken down to make room in our apartment.  It comes with a converter rail for a toddler bed.   We also have the mattress (also shrink wrapped).  One of the front leg screws is missing (we held it together with duct tape but you can easily go to Hardware store to buy a replacement screw).  All other screws/parts are included.  Also, the assembly instructions have been misplaced though we are happy to provide tips.  The price of the crib is negotiable.  Call Robert at 347-574-1727 if interested.

The following link shows what the crib looks like when assembled:

NYU Graduate Film Looking to Shoot in Ditmas Home From Sat. Nov 12th - Saturday Nov. 19th

Hello,

My name is Geoff Mansfield and I am producing an NYU graduate film TV show and we are looking to film at a house in Brooklyn over the week of November 14th (from Saturday the 11th to Saturday the 19th).  We've got some phenomenal actors and it's going to be a great mix of comedy and drama (Alexander Payne's work has been our touchstone).  Ideally, we're looking for a home in Ditmas that could double for  Anytown, USA -- albeit, a tremendously idyllic and beautiful Anytown -- and we'd love your place to be furnished.  We are looking to spend around $1600 for the week.

The shoot will be minimally invasive (by film shoot standards), your property and belongings will be fully insured, we won't film longer than from 8-8, and your support would make a really, really neat project possible.   And, of course, we'd love to have you at the screening in March.  This is somewhat vague, but I can gladly elaborate via email if this sounds like something you'd be interested in and/or if you have any questions.  If you are really interested and could send us photos of your home, that would be immensely appreciated.

I can be reached at busktv@gmail.com .

Cheers,

Geoff

66 Pct D.I. John Sprague to Speak at ANA Meeting Oct 27 @ 6:30 pm

At a special hour and a half meeting to be held Thursday, October 27, the Albemarle Neighborhood Association (ANA), will host Deputy Inspector John J. Sprague, the commanding officer of the NYPD 66 Precinct.  He will speak on the issues he views as major and pressing to Kensington residents and then take questions from the floor. The meeting will end at 8 p.m. sharp.

Appointed to head up the 66 Precinct in January, 2010, D.I. Sprague transferred from his post as Commanding Officer of Bensonhurst's 62 Precinct where he'd served since 2006.  While there he achieved a 10% drop in crime.  He joined the NYPD in 1991 and worked in the Narcotics and Auto Crime Divisions at Brooklyn Patrol Boro South early in his career. He is also a graduate of the Police Management Institute sponsored by the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.

The ANA meeting will take place from 6:30–8 p.m. at the Flatbush & Shaare Torah Jewish Center, 327 E. 5th Street, corner of Church Avenue. The meeting is free and open to all, members and nonmembers alike. Please use wheelchair-accessible entrance on the ground floor. Foodtown and ANA will provide refreshments.

Be part of a tradition of tennis in Prospect Park that stretches all the way back to 1885, when the lawn tennis craze swept the nation. By 1900, the Long Meadow was home to over 300 tennis courts! In 1960, tennis was moved to the historic Parade Ground with the construction of surfaced courts. In 2006 the Prospect Park Alliance opened the Tennis Center at the Parade Ground under the direction of Paul Campbell. The Center offers 11 courts, 9 of which are Har-Tru surface courts and two are Deco-Turf hard courts. The Deco-Turf hard courts are especially suitable for Junior play and USTA League and Tournament training.

The Center is located at the Parade Ground on the corner of Coney Island and Parkside Avenues (Park Circle). Street parking is available on Parkside Avenue.

The Prospect Park Tennis Center at the Parade Ground is a program of the Prospect Park Alliance. All proceeds from the Tennis Center go toward providing a high level of service, programming and ongoing maintenance of the Center.

A Victorian Clown Throwdown

A collaboration from John Leo (Peg-ass-us, tinyDANGEROUSfun!, Number's Up!) and Jay Dunn (Chicken, Flesh&Blood&Fish&Fowl), two slightly perverted but naively well-intentioned mutes drag each other through life with only each other's mischievous cruelty to keep them warm. With voyeuristic vaudeville bits and surrealist non sequitors, John and Jay marry Beckett's existential bleakness, the Marquis de Sade's power-games and Keaton's comedic sincerity. Both epic and infinitesimal, these gentlemen comrades will laugh you out of your seat while they steal it from under you.

Warning: Violence, Sexiness and Booze will be Goin' On.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Brahms Highlights Season Opener For Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra

The opening concert of the 2011-2012 season of the Brooklyn Symphony
Orchestra will be held on Sunday, October 30, 3pm, at the Church of
St. Ann and the Holy Trinity in Brooklyn Heights. The program,
conducted by Artistic Director Nicholas Armstrong, includes Haydn's
Feldparthia in B-flat ("St. Antoni Chorale") followed by two Brahms
works, the Variations on a Theme of Haydn ("St. Anthony Chorale")
and the Piano Concerto #1 in d minor.

Concertgoers will enjoy a rare opportunity to hear Brahms's
Variations on a Theme by Haydn preceded by the "Haydn" theme itself.
"Haydn" in quotes because recent scholarship has pointed to the
composer Ignaz Pleyel, a student of Joseph Haydn, as the author of the
work which Brahms quoted.

To complete the program, the orchestra will be welcoming back pianist
Dan Franklin Smith in Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 1 in d minor. Mr.
Smith was highly lauded for his performance of Beethoven's Third Piano
Concerto with the orchestra at Brooklyn College several years ago.

"I have wanted to program the Brahms First Concerto for some time
now," Artistic Director Nick Armstrong said, "and Dan is a wonderful
pianist. The audience is in for a thrilling performance."

A reception to meet the musicians will follow the concert with free
refreshments.

Admission to the concert is free with a suggested contribution of $15.
Children are free.

The Church of St. Ann and the Holy Trinity is located at the corner
of Clinton and Montague Streets in Brooklyn Heights, next to the Court
Street subway station.

The Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra, comprised of talented amateur,
semi-professional and professional musicians, is one of New York
area's finest community orchestras. Founded 36 years ago as the
"Brooklyn Heights Orchestra," the group joins under the baton of
Artistic Director Nicholas Armstrong to present five symphonic
concerts per season of classical, romantic and 20th-century music.
This concert is made possible, in part, with public funds.

$675/month, utilities included, internet additional ($10/month). Big sunny
room, 2 large windows, hardwood floor.

About the house: Victorian house, large front yard w/ garden, about a block
from the Cortelyou Rd. stop on the Q. Front porch, screened-in second floor
porch off the kitchen. 2 full bathrooms and large kitchen.

About us: 5 women and 1 man in our 20s and 30s, 2 cats and 1 dog. Very
artsy, fun house (musicians, artists, theatre people). We like to cook
(half of us are vegetarians), hang out and play music, drink wine. We're a
community, but you'll definitely have your privacy as well.

About you: Responsible, respectful, and clean (must be willing to share all
common-space cleaning equally). Creative types are preferred, and it
would be great if you have experience with community households.
