DETAILS:                 Project Director Michael Marrella will review the history of New York City’s waterfront and how it lead to Vision 2020, the Department of City Planning’s 10-year plan to revitalize its 500 miles of waterways while balancing the needs of residents, wildlife and ecosystems. Vision 2020 addresses public access, recreation, the natural environment, maritime industries, transportation, housing and commercial activity.

 

The Freshkills Park Talks is a lecture series on topics related to the reclamation and development of Freshkills Park. The series is organized by the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation in conjunction with a variety of citywide partners.
