Welcome To East Midwood Hebrew Day School. From preschool through 8th grade (ages 2 through 14) we offer excellent academic and Judaic studies in a warm and nurturing environment.
Our secular education prepares our students with the full range of skills they will need to face the realities of today's knowledge-based and digital world. Our religious education communicates the particulars of our faith and the great universal truths of Judaism. It builds a sense of self worth linked to the ethical code of conduct central to Jewish teachings.
Our students receive religious and secular educations and experiences of the highest quality:
All our teachers are certified
Our classes are small and learning is differentiated
We have full Science and Computer Labs
We offer an acclaimed Gesher Program
We offer gymnastics and swimming as part of our growing after school programs
Our tuition is affordable with scholarships available
We enjoy the support of the BJE, UJA, the Gruss Foundation and the Solomon Schechter Day School Association
We participate in the NYS standardized testing program. Students in grades 4, 6, 7 and 8 take both the ELA and NYS Math Test. Over the years, our students have performed extremely well on these tests. They have achieved admission to choice programs across the city including the Abraham Joshua Heschel High School, Brooklyn Tech, Stuyvesant High School, Solomon Schechter High School in Long Island and the Yeshiva of Flatbush High School.
Families come from all walks of Jewish Life. For more information, visit our website, at www. emhds.org. To arrange a visit to our school, please contact Regina Elmkies, Admissions Coordinator, 718 253 1555.
