Can you offer a short-term rental/home to a neighbor?

I'm looking for either a bedroom in a house with kitchen privileges, an apartment-sit, or sublet In Brooklyn between the months of April and June. I will be bridging the gap between the sale of one apartment and the closing on a new one. I am a psychotherapist  in private practice, quiet, a non-smoker, responsible, and have good references. Coming with me will be my two gentle dogs. We can discuss financial terms and I can also offer help with dog care if you have a dog or dogs. We are not able to live with cats.
