EVENT: Mark your calendars for the fifth annual GreenThumb Open Garden Day NYC on Saturday, June 4th and Sunday. June 5th (rain or shine) at community gardens across the city. Activities include arts and crafts, music performances, volunteer projects, tours, and more!
DETAILS: NYC Parks GreenThumb is the largest community gardening program in the country, with more than 550 community gardens across the city, totaling over 100 acres of public space.
GreenThumb, established in 1978, provides programming, material support, and technical assistance to community gardens in New York City.
Community gardens and the 20,000+ volunteer gardeners who steward them contribute to the environmental sustainability, public health, and community resilience of their neighborhoods and cities.
