As I Cecilia Cortez, continue working on my campaign for City Council District 40 Brooklyn, 2021,
I learned that the Governor Mr. Cuomo rejected the water permit application from the massive fracked Williams gas pipeline that was going to be built New York harbor on Friday May 18, 2020. This is a major win for the people of New York. Williams said it wouldn't reapply. That pipeline would have polluted our most vital waterways and intensify our dependency on fossil fuels. This decision comes after 3 years of strong grassroot work. People from all over have work on this project. That is a tremendous win for the people from New York and New Jersey. It shows that when we work together, we accomplish our goal. We must continue to bring new ideas to have a better future. That means work with new sources of renewable clean energy. As your City council representative, I will work to bring new renewable clean energy projects to New York City.
As Governor Cuomo said continue to stay come, that will stop the spread of the COVID 19 virus and will save lives. Something that we want ultimately. If you have to if you go out wear a mask. Now we have studies that show if you wear a mask. It does prevent the spread of COVID 19. People are starting to get better. The reports that the Governor gives daily shows the numbers are coming down. If we continue to keep social distance and wear a mask we will reopen soon and we will be able to go back to the things we used to do.
I continue to be very grateful to all the essential workers who are allowing us to stay indoors and be protected. Stay well and healthy.

Yo Cecilia Cortez continuo trabajando en my campana para concejal de la ciudad de New York en el Distrito 40 de Brooklyn.
Escuche que el vienes 18 de Mayo el Governador del estado de Nueva York Senor Cuomo no firmo el permiso para la applicacion de la fractura hidraulica del aquaducto Wiliams de gas que se iva a construir en New York. Eso fue triunfo muy grande para los ciudadanos de Nueva York y Nueva Jersey. El aqueducto Wliilams hubiera contaminado el agua potable e intensificaria nuestra dependencia el combustibles de fosiles. The decision es el resultado del trabajo de la gente de base de different organizaciones. Gente de todas partes han trabajo en este projecto por 3 anos . Esta ganancia es fenomenal para la gente de Nueva York y Nueva Jersey. Eso muestra que cuando trabajamos juntos logramos nuestras metas. Debemos seguir teniendo nuevas ideas para tener un mejor futuro. Eso significa trabajar con fuentes de energia limpias y reusables. Como su consejal de Nueva

El governador de Nueva York ha dicho que debemos de estar adentro de nuestra casa, para evitar el desarrollo del virus COVID 19 y eso salvara vidas. Si tiene que salir use una mascara. Cubrase la boca y la nariz. Los reportes del governador indican que la gente se esta mejorando. Si mantenemos la distancia social y usamos la mascara pronto volveremos a nuestras rutinas.
Yo estoy muy agradecida por el trabajo que todos los trabajadores esenciales estan haciendo que nos permite quedarnos en casa.
