DETAILS: Enjoy New York City's great outdoors through FREE guided hikes, stewardship projects, and interactive Periscope tours in our parks.
Hiking is a great way to get active and reduce stress while exploring the city. Discover the natural beauty, wildlife, history, and architectural beauty of our parklands with our Urban Park Rangers and other nature exploration groups.
Our Urban Park Ranger hiking guides will introduce you to the hidden gems of New York City parks. On our hikes, you can gain orienteering skills, explore our city's rich history, or just take an hour to unplug from the world. All ages are welcome.

The Conference House, a grand stone manor house built in 1680, is named for the unsuccessful Revolutionary War peace conference that was held here on September 11, 1776 between the Americans and the English. Despite their negotiations to end the fighting, no agreement was reached and the Revolutionary War continued for another seven years.

This workshop will provide participants with the skills necessary to properly clear, maintain and improve a hiking trail. Through field work, you will learn assessment of trail conditions, clearing, trail marking, proper use of tools and how to report any trail problems. Be prepared to spend a few hours on the trails around the area as part of the field training.
