                                    307 East 118^th Street btw 1^st and 2^nd avenues

DETAILS:                   FREE – rain or shine – all ages welcome!

                                    Join NYC Parks’ Green Thumb to celebrate the fall harvest. Activities include Harvest Fair Contest (registration for this contest begins at 11:00 a.m. on site prior to event), workshops on window and straw bale gardening for small spaces and patios, earth henna, family yoga, raffle prizes and more! Performers will include Bomba Yo and Grammy-award-winning guitarist and composer Hernan Romero.

 

Event will also feature first ever Green Thumb Fresh Chef Contest.  Contest will challenge 10 youth and 10 adults to create their most delicious and nutritious dishes with local and healthy ingredients, judged by a panel of VIP East Harlem chefs including Melba Wilson, Artist Thornton, Raphael Benavides and Irene Yager. Pre-registration is required to participate in Fresh Chef Contest.  Youths (10-17) can register here. Adults (18 and up) can register here. All participants will receive a chef hat and apron and prizes will be awarded to the 1^st and 2^nd place winners.
