STREET GAMES 2015

Classic outdoor games with a modern twist

DATE:                        Saturday, April 25, 2015

TIME:                          11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

LOCATION:               Thomas Jefferson Park

                                    114th Street and First Avenue

Manhattan

DETAILS:                   Street Games, presented by NYC Parks and The Walt Disney Company, brings back the classic games and sports played by previous generations and gives them a modern twist. New Yorkers young – and young at heart – can visit our Classic Street Games zone and get moving with stickball, pogo sticks, hula hoops, double-dutch, yo-yos, and skateboarding clinics.

Or take it to the street!  Street Games closes 114th Street and Pleasant Avenue just north of the park to vehicle traffic, so kids can participate in a soap box derby, street hockey, relay races and learn to ride your bike clinic.

Test your skills in the Red Bulls Skills Challenge hosted by the New York Red Bulls soccer team or throw a disc with the New York Empire ultimate team on the soccer fields! Shoot some hoops with the NY Knicks or take part in wheelchair basketball.

Remember to stop by the passport booth to pick up a Street Games Passport.  Complete 7 out of 10 of the activities on the passport and bring it to the Disney booth to redeem a prize!

Street Games is more than just games –There will be live music and entertainment, including several performances by the Dance Theater of Harlem! For more information about Street Games, visit our website at nyc.gov/parks.

Please bring your own helmet for the soap box derby, learn to ride a bike (must bring your own bike), skateboarding and roller blade venues.
