TREES COUNT -- CAN WE COUNT ON YOU?
Volunteer at NYC Parks' Trees Count! 2015
DATE: Volunteer opportunities May through November 2015
LOCATION: Locations Citywide
DETAILS: Volunteers will help map and record critical information about
individual trees on each and every city block. In all boroughs,
we’ll be hosting mapping events where volunteers can band
together to do this important work. The data will help to create
a citywide street map to guide planning decisions and inform
future planting and stewardship efforts to ensure equitable
distribution of trees for all neighborhoods.
No prior expertise necessary -- volunteers will receive training and data collection tools. Call 311 or visit NYC Parks' website to sign up for our newsletter and learn more about Trees Count! 2015.
Trees help to make our city cooler, our air cleaner and our neighborhoods more beautiful, and you can help them by becoming a volunteer. Your participation in Trees Count! 2015 will help to ensure a healthy and thriving urban forest for our future. Can we count on you?
