Inspired by the deadpan theatrical works of Raymond Roussel and the puppetry–influenced plays of Alfred Jarry, as well as 19th century Bowery melodrama, Matthew Thurber's musical adaptation of his own comic is enhanced by elaborate costumes, painted backdrops, scrolls, and lo–fi special effects.

All hell breaks loose when Frank the Shank sparks a distribution war, geriatric assassins Jimmy the Face and Massacre Mel deliver the wrong head to gang lord rival Bohannon, and gun salesman Stan the Man sells the right bullets to the wrong men. The founders of Irondale, Jim Niesen, Barbara Mackenzie-Wood and Terry Greiss first met when they were hired as young actors at Long Wharf in 1977. According to
Artistic Director, Jim Niesen, "Working at Long Wharf in a tremendously supportive creative environment, gave us the model of how we wanted to keep working throughout our careers. It also brought the three of us together in what clearly became, for all of us, our most important professional and personal relationship". Terry Greiss, Irondale's Executive Director said, "Jim
and I have been working as a team for 36 years. Although we didn't set out to model ourselves after Arvin (Brown) and Edgar, it was an important and successful example of partnership that we were exposed to early in our careers". Barbara Mackenzie-Wood, now Head of the Acting/Music Theatre Program at Carnegie Mellon University said, "Edgar was a mentor for us all. When we started Irondale, he was always willing to give us advice or talk to our board. I think he was proud of what we created and we were always quick to acknowledge our roots. Hello, friends and family,

Thank you to all who have already contributed to my campaign! I've been able to pay off more than $1,020 in medical bills and living expenses.

I am sending this letter as a one-time mass email to raise the remaining $5,000 that I need to cover my medical bills from the accident. The Jeremy Wilson Foundation has generously extended my deadline for raising funds to May 31.

Please click on the link below for the whole story!

http://thejwf.org/dominique-gagne

I am currently almost pain-free and have been able to return to running. As of today, May 16, I am fighting hard to get my medical history to be cleared so that I can work for Royal Caribbean Cruises this summer. I have been hired as a pianist but their medical department is skeptical about my ability to lift 50 pounds in the event of an emergency, a requirement for all ship employees. My doctor has even sent a letter in my support. Prayers welcome!

Please, make a 100% tax-deductible donation to The Jeremy Wilson Foundation to contribute towards the Dominique Gagne Emergency Healthcare Fund by clicking the orange donate button above.

Thank you so much! Love and hugs to you all!

-Dominique

"While riding my bike to UMiami on October 8, 2013, I was hit head-on by an oncoming car. I was thrown onto the hood and launched into the air, landing on my back. The car drove away, and residents near the accident site came out of their houses to call 911 and my Mom…I broke three vertebrae, three ribs, received 13 stitches in my left foot and have nerve damage in my left arm."

Mining the Moon
Written and Directed by Matthew Thurber
A werewolf who happens to be the president of the United States has remained in power by arresting the movement of the Moon. A cabal of businessmen have their sights on harvesting the lunar coal deposits, and attempt to depose him with the help of the last remaining Native Americans who hope to build a giant casino on their reservation that will reach into space – unless they can be stopped by President Furzedowne and his accomplice, a talking horse named Mr. Colostomy.

Presented by Foxy Henriques and The Circuit Theatre Company
Written by Skylar Fox and Simon Henriques, Animation by Alex Lee
"What part of 'I don't care' don't you understand?" he says in a measured tone, as he gives that signature "Whatever" shrug. It's Apathy Boy. Yay. In a world that cares too much, Apathy Boy is really good at saving himself. In an alternate world, a high school boy tells Apathy Boy's story as he draws it into life. As these worlds collide, a hero meets his maker, and nothing will ever be the same. This new play from Foxy Henriques combines live action with animation to tell a story about ... whatever. If you want to know, come to the show. Or don't. Nothing matters anyway.
