Brooklyn, NY: Roulette presents The Barry Altschul 70th Birthday Bash, C.D. release party. + BRAHMA reunion, January 8, 8pm. The evenings event will be divided, the first half will feature "3dom Factor" with Jon Irabagon- tenor sax and Joe Fonda-bass and the second will be a rare performance by "BRAHMA" with Ray Anderson -trombone, and Mark Helias-bass.

Barry Altschul gained notoriety in the 1960's playing with Paul Bley and Chick Corea and worked steadily throughout the 1970's and 80's with a wide array of musicians both in the avant- garde and "straight ahead" worlds. After a short departure from public performance and spending the majority of his time in Europe, Altschul returned to visibility with two sideman appearances with the FAB trio (Billy Bang and Joe Fonda), and the Jon Irabagon Trio recording "Foxy".
