CLOVER AND TIMOTHY PRESENTS MAGIC CARPET YOGA!
CLOVER AND TIMOTHY PRESENTS MAGIC CARPET YOGA: THIS FRIDAY, November 30, 7:30pm RESTORATIVE YOGA, HERBS & AROMATHERAPY WITH ALICIA MARRIN Featuring Cardamom, Palo Santo & Ginger A BY-DONATION HERB INSPIRED FEAST OF KESHARI DAS OF SATTVA TO FOLLOW CLASS!
Plants have been used for thousands of years in cultures around the world to aid in meditation and to cleanse the spirit. The sense of smell is our only sense directly linked to the limbic lobe of the brain. The limbic system is connected to parts of the brain that control memory, pleasure and emotions, as well as physiological functions such as heart rate, hormonal release and breathing. As a result, calming aromatic plants have profound effects on our physical and emotional bodies. Restorative yoga is a practice designed to unlock tension and encourage genuine relaxation. The marriage of yogic and plant-based therapies will balance the nervous system, revive your senses and leave you feeling renewed.
This will be the last Magic Carpet class until 2013 and we are going out with an herbal bang! We will be working with three incredibly powerful plants. Cardamom is known to give clarity and joy and is also particularly good for opening the flow of prana in the body. Ginger, called vishwabhesaj or "the universal medicine," will warm you up just in time for Winter's arrival, while the smoke of Palo Santo will calm your overactive mind and cleanse your spirit. After you bask in these scents and some deep yogic slumber, we will feed your hungry belly an Ayurvedic, herb-inspired meal and send you home happy.
