A subterranean romp the likes of which Ditmas Park, Brooklyn has never seen. As one audience member said "It's like getting in trouble in your parents basement!" So...expect audacious clown, unruly puppetry and sweaty burlesque, and an array of antics and stunts all crammed together into a cozy/awkward mess. Oh and don't forget this month's Dumpster DOVE...Treasure TROVE! (and maybe there's free cookies!)
We are a quiet, considerate, professional and responsible couple seeking a 2 bedroom apartment in the Cortelyou/Ditmas Park area. We would possibly consider a 1 bedroom (if its large enough). Ideally, we would like a rental in a private home with a nice landlord. (Hey, we all have dreams don't we?) We are both employed, and can provide documentation. We hope to move either at the end of April or May. Thank you kindly for reading! A & G

Is access to clean drinking water a basic human right, or a commodity that should be bought and sold like any other article of commerce? Stephanie Soechtig's debut feature is an unflinching examination of the big business of bottled water. From the producers of Who Killed the Electric Car and I.O.U.S.A., this timely documentary is a behind-the-scenes look into the unregulated and unseen world of an industry that aims to privatize and sell back the one resource that ought never to become a commodity: our water. From the plastic production to the ocean in which so many of these bottles end up, this inspiring documentary trails the path of the bottled water industry and the communities which were the unwitting chips on the table. A powerful portrait of the lives affected by the bottled water industry, this revelatory film features those caught at the intersection of big business and the public's right to water.

Selling my beautiful, lake and river worthy hand built cedar-strip canoe up for sale. She is 60-65 lbs, measures 13 ft 8 in from bow to stern, 2.5 wide at the gunwales. Cane seats. She probably needs a little bit of work, few scratches on the bottom. Other than that, she is in excellent condition. There are also two life preservers -- medium or small, definitely a large. Both in excellent condition. Canoe is worth about $2,000, I'm selling at $1400. She is currently docked in S. Maryland. I have many more photos, in good detail. Serious inquiries only since it means traveling (for me) to bring it to the right person. It's a great buy if you know canoes.

Kumt, hert a Yidish vort, un farbrengt in a heymisher svive!
Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy a very special evening with one of the shining stars of today's Yiddish theater as he presents works by the well-known chronicler of Eastern European Jewish life in honor of his 70th yortsayt. Murdered in the khurbn, Kacyzne is well known for his photographs, but he was also considered the literary successor to Y. L. Peretz. His plays, poetry and short stories are a lasting part of the Yiddish cultural tradition, and we hope you'll join us as Goldwaser interprets several of his stories.
Please note that the program will be entirely in Yiddish with no translation.
