Community gardeners from all five boroughs will show off their finest produce at the annual GreenThumb Harvest Festival

 

DATE:                        Saturday, September 15, 2018

 

TIME:                          12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

                                    1:00 p.m: Fresh Chef contest

                                    2:45 p.m: Ribbons awarded

 

LOCATION:               Brooklyn Bears Pacific Street Garden

Between Flatbush Ave. and Fourth Ave.

DETAILS:                   Come marvel at the biggest, juiciest and tastiest produce grown by local community gardeners as they bring their finest vegetables, flowers, jams, honey, pies and more to be judged by a panel of garden gurus. Ribbons will be awarded in categories such as Largest Squash, Tastiest Tomato and Best Jam.

 

                                    Show off your cooking skills in the Fresh Chef contest, with contestants competing on-site to whip up the most delicious dish with ingredients from Brooklyn Bears Pacific Garden. Ingredients will be revealed at the start of the competition, and dishes will be judged by renowned New York chefs, who will crown the new Fresh Chef and doll out prizes. Register in advance here.

   

                                    New Yorkers will also get the chance to build their own scarecrow, make a bike-powered smoothie and take home free daffodil bulbs to plant in their yards or gardens. All activities are FREE and open to everyone.
