NYC PARKS IS BRINGING CLASSIC BACK—STREET GAMES!
Fun Outdoor Games and Activities for Kids of All Ages
DATE: Saturday, April 29, 2017
TIME: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Thomas Jefferson Park
112th Street and First Avenue
MANHATTAN
DETAILS: New Yorkers, young and young at heart, can (re)visit the days when shuffleboard, pogo sticks, hula hoops, double-dutch, street hockey, and box car derbies were all the rage at the 10th annual Street Games, presented by NYC Parks. The event re-introduces classic, low-tech games, enjoyed by past generations to a new generation of kids.
Street Games inspires kids to take a break from electronics and get up, get outside, and get active. During Street Games, kids are invited to experience the power of play through stickball, stilts and wheelchair basketball. Kids can throw a disc with the New York Empire ultimate team or test their parkour skills.
Street Games is more than just games. The event will include live music and entertainment, such as performances by the Dance Theatre of Harlem and Hip-Hop break dancing. Street Games is open to all ages and abilities.
