BROOKLYN, NY – Brooklyn's first festival to showcase the borough's emerging artists in theater, dance, and voice will premiere this fall and features, among other cutting edge artists,  the Irondale Ensemble who will be performing in their beautiful home, the Irondale Center and other venues across the borough.  The Irondale Ensemble will be presenting a minimally staged, version of their spring smash "Color Between the Lines" part of the In Pursuit of Freedom project.

Originally scheduled to perform a work-in-progress of their upcoming Julius Caesar for the festival, Irondale and the creators of BEAT made the switch to revive Color Between the Lines instead. According to Terry Greiss, Irondale's Executive Director, "Color Between the Lines is the history of Brooklyn's abolitionist struggle, told through original company created music and based on newly uncovered history.  The combination of it being a real Brooklyn story and the innovative nature of the performance style itself makes it an exciting offering for BEAT. We are thrilled that we are able to find the resources that allow us to revive it for the festival."

When it first premiered in the spring the Huffington Post called it a "pulsing and powerful production", and the NY Times called it "courageous and compelling" with an "energetic and impassioned" ensemble.

Please join Irondale at one of their six performances.  See the schedule below.
