Song of the Week: “Better Angels”Happy Friday my friends! I’m excited to share my new original Song of the Week, “Better Angels”! This is comical ditty with a hat tip to the 20’s/30’s tin pan alley style and a simple moral, encapsulated in the chorus: “tell that devil on your shoulder to shut his wagging trap / He should surely shut it and completely cut his crap / let the better angels of our nature supernaturally / elevate through whispered guidance all humanity…” Paid subscribers can enjoy below, and thanks so much for your support!... "Ion Zelig Vol. III" 10th Anniversay
I can’t believe it, but this story is now 10 years old. One of my strangest, coolest concept albums, exploring the occult fringes of Gnostic Christianity: “Ion Zelig Vol. III”. The one and only Jonathan Ben-Menachem over at No Smoking Media wrote about it, and it was the first time I felt like a music journalist ever understood where I was coming from. If you want to listen to the record and decide for yourself without anyone else’s input for a teaser, here:

How the Papacy Fulfills Prophecy Pt. 7 | The Acts of Paul and Thecla
Part 7 of this super fun study is out now. Check out this crazy 2nd century tale about how St. Paul rose from the dead after being beheaded by Nero, how he prophesied the Great Fire of Rome, and how actually, it was Nero’s fault. Part 7 gets more into the mystical weeds of Resurrection theology I touched on in last week’s look at the Acts of Peter (where the main character rises from the dead there, too — what!?!) Enjoy!
