FARMING FOR FUN: GREENTHUMB'S 40TH ANNUAL HARVEST FAIR
Celebrate the city's thousands of community gardeners with competitions, live entertainment, games, arts & crafts, and more!

EVENT: Greenthumb's 40th Annual Harvest Fair will celebrate the city's thousands of community gardeners and greening professionals for their work during the season, giving the GreenThumb gardeners the opportunity to show off the best of their 2019 harvests!
The free event will include live entertainment, cooking demonstrations, games, arts and crafts, a bike smoothie station, scarecrow making tutorials, workshops, and much more!
DETAILS: The fair will also feature two competitions:
· Annual Harvest Fair Competition: Gardeners will have a chance to show off the best of their bounties with arrangements featuring vegetables, flowers, art from nature, and other food from their gardens.
· The Fresh Chef Contest: 10 GreenThumb community gardeners will face off, competing against each other to create the most delicious and nutritious dish using local and healthy ingredients.
About Greenthumb:
GreenThumb is the largest community gardening program in the country, with more than 550 community gardens across the city, totaling over 100 acres.
Established in 1978, GreenThumb provides programming, material support, and technical assistance to community gardens in New York City. GreenThumb's 20,000 community gardeners produce more than 500,000 pounds of food each year.
