Films on the Green Festival

Hello,

I am writing to let you know about the 11th edition of Films on the Green, a free French film festival in New York City Parks beginning on June 1st. This year's focus is gastronomy.

We are interested in promoting our festival to your readers as it is a great cultural experience for all and we want to reach out to as many people as possible.

In 2018, Films on the Green will explore the profound relationship between French culture and gastronomy: an integral part of France's social fabric. Featuring 12 classic and contemporary films, the selection will explore various aspects of this multifaceted theme, from cuisine as an art (Le Grand Restaurant by Jacques Besnard, Haute Cuisine by Christian Vincent) and wine making as a traditional family savoir-faire (You Will Be My Son by Gilles LeGrand), to the meal as a social event (a family Christmas gathering in La Bûche by Danièle Thompson).

We will be showcasing outdoor screenings at parks around NYC and this year, a new addition in Fort Lee, N.J. The dates are as follows:

June 1 - Central Park: Le Grand Restaurant by Jacques Besnard

June 8- Washington Sq. Park: The Scent of Green Papaya by Trần Anh Hùng (in Vietnamese with English subtitles)

June 15 - Washington Sq. Park: The Rules of the Game by Jean Renoir

June 22 - Transmitter Park (Brooklyn): La Bûche by Danièle Thompson

June 29 - Transmitter Park (Brooklyn): Garçon! by Claude Sautet

July 6 - Tompkins Sq. Park: Le Boucher by Claude Chabrol

July 13 - Tompkins Sq. Park: Romantics Anonymous by Jean-Pierre Améris

July 27 - Riverside Park, Pier I: Haute Cuisine by Christian Vincent
