JOIN NYC PARKS FOR BLACK FRIDAY HIKES

DATE:                        Friday, November 24, 2017

DETAILS:                   Work off your Thanksgiving feast and enjoy New York City’s great outdoors on guided hikes with NYC Parks through some of our most picturesque parks. Hiking is a great way to get active and reduce stress while exploring the city. Discover the natural beauty, wildlife, and history of our parklands with the NYC Parks Urban Park Rangers.

LOCATIONS:                Brooklyn: Black Friday Hike: The Midwood Trail

Audubon Center at the Boathouse (in Prospect Park)

1:00 p.m.–2:30 p.m.
Step back in time with a walk through Brooklyn’s oldest remaining forest.

Bronx: Black Friday Hike: Hunter Island Hike (Moderate)

Orchard Beach Nature Center (in Pelham Bay Park)

1:00 p.m.–2:30 p.m.
On our hikes, you may explore nature, discover our city's urban forests, or just unplug from the world to clear your head. Moderate hikes are longer, faster-paced on rugged terrain.

Manhattan: Black Friday Hike: Central Park South to North Hike

Doris Freedman Plaza (in Central Park)

11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Get outside and have your walking shoes ready as the Urban Park Rangers hike with you through iconic and natural areas throughout Central Park.

Queens: Black Friday Hike: Nature Exploration (Moderate)

Winchester Boulevard, under Grand Central Parkway (in Alley Pond Park)

10:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
On our hikes, you may explore nature, discover our city’s urban forests, or just unplug from the world to clear your head. Moderate hikes are longer, faster-paced hikes on rugged terrain.

Staten Island: Black Friday Hike: Post-Thanksgiving Super Hike (Vigorous)

Willowbrook Park Archery Range (in Willowbrook Park)

11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Instead of waiting on lines, opt outside and join the Urban Park Rangers through a vigorous hike on the White Trail. Vigorous hikes feature long distances and occasionally, uneven terrain.
